Italian Marble Fruit > Individual Fruit Italian Marble Fruit
Interestingly, the medlar tree is a relative to the rose, as well as the pear, and grows wild in the temperate regions of Europe. Although largely unfamiliar in America, this intriguing warm orange fruit has been cultivated for centuries. The fruit is left to mellow on the tree until after the first frost, when it is harvested and stored until the flesh turns soft and the flavor resembles cinnamon applesauce. The solid marble fruit is sold in a set of two, and is artistically crafted on a genuine tree branch. The prized Carrara marble originates from the same quarries in Tuscany used by Michelangelo to create his famous masterpieces, and is artfully crafted by five skillful artisans of the renowned Rovai Family Marble Works in Italy. The fruit is life-size and realistic in form, color, and texture. Each piece comes individually wrapped, and makes a beautiful presentation straight out of the box! The medlar set measures approximately 3.1" x 1.6" x 3.5" and weighs over 1/2 lb. Medlar Set Italian Marble Fruit MARBLEFRUIT032 Our Price $64.00 |
