How does a poster become a
canvas print?

A
canvas reproduction can be made from any print, poster or photograph. First, the
print is coated, via spray or brush with a special acrylic that seizes the ink.
After drying, the resulting ink film is then carefully separated from the paper
and embedded into high quality canvas. After this unique process, the
picture has an image true to the original painting with a lustrous oil sheen and
rich canvas texture.
The End Result:
We
stretch all of our canvas transfers onto stretcher bars unless otherwise
specified by the customer. When we stretch, we normally cut custom bars to
the size of the image after transfer, which can be slightly different from the
original size. Please keep in mind that all canvas transfers are custom made
for each customer and are non-refundable items. All canvas transfers take 3 to 4
weeks. Please note: Standard stretched transfers are stapled on the
side unless the gallery or museum wrap option is chosen when ordering.
We use only the finest quality materials and
craftsmanship!
- Finest Fabric
- Grade A artist's canvas, carefully inspected piece by piece.
- Not the cheap materials used in
many imports and lesser studios.
- Professional stretching
- with custom grooved and tapered molding.
- Not cheap wood of inconsistent
form and quality.
The following options are available when
ordering canvas transfers:
Standard Stretched: The canvas transfer is placed on
stretcher bars, and the framing staples are on the side. The print
is shipped flat in a box.
Unstretched: The unstretched canvas transfer is rolled into a tube for
shipping.
Gallery Wrap: This is the same as Museum Wrap, except the image is
wrapped around the sides of the stretcher bars and stapled on the back.
Museum Wrap: The canvas is stretched on stretcher bars and attached
with staples on the back instead of the sides.
Brush Strokes: To give the canvas an authentic look, the canvas is
hand-enhanced by an artist who
applies clear acrylic brush strokes in the pattern of the original piece.
Brushstrokes are most appropriate for paintings in the impressionist style and
similar pieces.
Aging & Cracking: The canvas is chemically altered to appear aged and
cracked. This option is especially effective to create the look of antique art.
Please allow an additional 3-4 weeks for this process. Please note that
this process is not available on gallery wrap stretched canvas.
